Since we are doing so well, we are only going to the pediatrician on a normal infant schedule. That mean they won't be weighed until their 6 month doctor visit. It is strange to not have the details of those little milestones that were so important to us in the beginning. But, they are eating more every day... Barely spitting up, and having full diapers. So I'm pretty confident their systems are doing what they should. Catherine still has reflux, and the hiccups, but she is outgrowing it little by little.
Both girls have started sleeping on their sides, and Mac continues to be flat on his back with both hands in the air. Last night, I looked over and thought he had turned on his belly, only to realize he was facing left. This is almost as exciting as rolling! He has had a strong preference, we won't call it an issue, but almost, with turning his head to the right. PT has been working on it, and it's so exciting to see him doing it all on his own!
Everyone is getting much stronger head control, and rolling from tummy to back more frequently. They are super smiley babies, and love to interact. (Especially when they wake you up in the middle of the night- then the smiles are HUGE!). They've started having natural rhythms, and 7 o'clock seems to be a natural bed time... This means we start the process of changing and feeding by 6 usually. They are all sleeping longer, just not always at the same time. Everyone asleep by 7:30; someone will wake up around 1, a different one around 3, and the third around 5! We are trying to let them establish their own routines, but it is tempting to wake them all at the same time.
They swat at their toys, and occasionally will grab on. But their favorite things are still me, daddy, the ceiling fan and the stained glass front door. (Oh, and the tv). They will crane their necks like an owl to try and see the television.
We've outgrown our newborn tub and have moved from the bathroom sink to the kitchen sink. They love having extra water to kick in and stare at the bamboo plant.
The focus of the last few weeks has been establishing bedtime routine, and I have to say, I think we are doing okay! So good, that one person can do it, with the help of podee bottles.
Life moves on as we look forward to a hot summer in Atlanta and figuring how exactly do 2 people take 3 babies to the pool?
Paisley in the new tub, checking out the bamboo.
