Back home again now, and slowly readjusting to not sleeping through the night again. It was a great few days away and especially needed as I got to feel like myself again. It's a strange change from no kids to 3, and the amount of independence lost is something I didn't really consider in advance. I'm happy to give it away, but it's nice to be reminded sometimes that I'm not just the Hogglets mom, but my old self too :)
The Hogglets, meanwhile, have been busy as well!
They went to the doctor on August 23rd (my 35th birthday) with their daddy and nana Hogg.
Mac:
Made it onto the growth chart for all of his measurements! (This means he is compared to peers of his age, not his adjusted age)
Weight: 15.32 pounds (started at 2.5 and came home at 5.9) 2.69 %
Length: 27.64 inches; (44.58%)
Head circum: 17.32, (34.7%)
Paisley:
Weight: 12.48 (birth 1, 13oz & home at 5.95) .24%
Length: 25 inches (1.46%)
Head: 16.73 (26.64%)
Catherine:
Weight: 12.08 (.1%) born at 2, 1.5 oz home at 6.24
Length: 26.18 (18.14%)
Head: 16.73 (26.64%)
The biggest news from the doctor is that we have started on solids! The babies have been enjoying green beans for the last 2 days. Paisley is voracious, Mac is hesitant, and Catherine is confused...
First bites:
Paisley
Catherine
The aftermath:
Mac playing on the floor
Always smiling
Catherine getting herself into trouble
And sitting in new high hair
Paisleys new found skill of eating her toes
Hanging with her big brother Zachary
And pretending to walk with dad
Everyone these days is rolling over, and around... And the girls are pretty good about finding a way to wiggle to their toys.
They are certainly more independent as they roll and grab and aren't totally reliant upon the adults to entertain them. No one has started sitting just yet, but they are doing better with being propped up. They all LOVE it when we sing itsy bitsy spider...
