We have found a great babysitter, thanks to a friends recommendation! She comes every Wednesday and Saturday morning... Basically, so I can play tennis, and Darren can work out. Yes, not so that we can have a date night, but so we can have our separate sports time :). I had a real mental shift moment, as I left my babysitter with pizza money and walked out the door... How did I become a grown up? Does she view me as I viewed the moms when I used to babysit? Alas, I confirmed with her that no... She does not just see me as the "mom". Phew, a few more years hopefully!
We had a follow up appointment the other day, where we got weights and heights. They were in pjs with diapers, so knock off a few ounces here and there... But the update:
Mac: 13 lb, 7 oz and 23 5/8"
Paisley: 10 lb, 2 oz and 22"
Catherine: 10 lb, 4 oz and 22.5"
Right now they have such different body types that it is hard to believe the girls are still so close in height and weight. Catherine seems long and lean and doesn't have a fat roll to speak of. Paisley has rolls of her thighs and a triple chin. She's more torso while Catherine has loooong legs.
Both Mac and Paisley are intentionally reaching for and grabbing onto the toys or rings, Catherine is swatting at them, and occasionally trying to kick them with her feet :)
Paisley has started looking at her brother and sister when they are all hanging on the floor mat, and I can't wait for the day where they go back and forth. She and Mac are both making lots of sounds, and can go back and forth with noises. He's got more of a coo and ooh, and she's got an ahhh.
Another milestone, on June 10th, Paisley laughed for the first time. I was just talking to her and tickled her rib cage and she gave me a little hehehe. It was deeper and more of a belly laugh. She's done it once a day since then, but never when expected or when the video camera is going.
